It may surprise you that LED lights can save up to 85% in energy usage compared to regular light bulbs. In fact a recent report on BBC News suggested that the reason that the UK has reduced its energy usage back to 1984 levels is mostly due to energy saving schemes such as replacing bulbs and other items around the home - washing machines, fridges etc. - with eco-friendly alternatives.
Electrical systems vary in complexity but of course almost all carry a high voltage current and so it is advisable not to play around with a system that you are unfamiliar with or not qualified to work with.
If you have done some basic work in the past, such as changing a plug, you may feel that you are ready to make some more significant changes but unless you are 100% confident, we would always recommended calling in a qualified electrician.
Noticing electrical faults around the home can be difficult but if you do notice something different or that you are worried about, we always suggest contacting a local electrician to take a thorough look for you. Like most things, catching an electrical fault early usually means that it is not only safer but also cheaper to fix than if you left it and hoped for the best. If in doubt and you are local to Ashford, Canterbury, Sittingbourne, Faversham or Maidstone, we can help.
