PAT Testing

Portable Appliance Testing, or PAT testing, is the process of checking your electrical equipment to ensure that it can be operated safely.

The process takes a number of steps but includes a visual inspection of the device and a test, using a specialist PAT machine, by a suitably qualified electrician.

Depending on the type of device and the setting, e.g. a workplace, a home (landlord requirements) or school, devices need to be checked depending to a set schedule.

If you are a landlord or the responsible person in your place of work, please get in touch for more details on our PAT Testing service. We are based in Ashford and cover the surrounding areas including Faversham, Canterbury, Maidstone and Sittingbourne.

Discounts are available for bigger settings with a larger number of items. Testing can usually be carried out all in one go and we are happy to work outside of your normal working hours to allow us to complete the tests without your staff in the office, as this can take longer to complete.

After the tests have been completed, you will receive:

  • An inventory containing each appliance type, name, location and description
  • A full set of test results for each appliance tested
  • A full list of any failed items with an explanation of their failure
  • A visible pass or fail label on each appliance detailing the inspection date, next test due and the inspector’s signature.
